Baby Eesha (name changed) , 2 months old infant was admitted with Heart Failure and Failure to thrive. Her weight was 2.46 kgs only.
Echocardiogram showed a very large PDA that was responsible for both issues. She was managed effectively at Children’s Hospital by the cardiac and ICU teams – thanks to them.
After stabilization, she was discharged . But then, was immediately admitted at a local hospital.
Surgical PDA closure was achieved successfully by our local cardiac surgical team. The baby has been discharged and is back to her home now.
It’s our first small for age and sick cardiac baby that has been dealt with locally without sending her outside Kashmir.
We congratulate the cardiac surgical team for managing this little baby locally.
The day is not far , when we will be doing all kinds of kids heart surgeries in our own state, God willing.
